Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I read that this place was one of only a few restaurants in central Rome recommended by an Italian food guide for authenticity and price. While tourists were queuing outside other restaurants nearby, I didn't have to wait here although it was still busy. Most of the other diners appeared to be Italian and they probably have better local knowledge. I was tempted to try the tasting menu, but went for a pasta dish instead as I wasn't sure I could manage 4 courses. All the dishes they were bringing out looked tasty and mine was no exception. The chocolate and orange sorbet for dessert was great too. Friendly, welcoming staff and I would happily go back again."
"Amazing experience. We tried some of Rome’s classic dishes, carbonara, and cacio e pepe and every plate was outstanding. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauces were flavorful, and the guanciale was crispy just right. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and cook with care. Service was excellent: attentive, kind, and always helpful with recommendations. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with an authentic local feel. They also hold a Michelin Bib Gourmand and Slow Food recognition and it truly shows in the balance between quality and price. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy traditional Roman pasta made the proper way."
"Everything we ate was genuinely great. We started with an antipasto misto to share, then had two pasta dishes: tonnarelli cacio e pepe and fusilli with cod. The pasta is homemade and it shows, delicious. They were also very accommodating with our small dog and let us sit inside with her, which made the meal even better. Classic Roman osteria atmosphere. I’d happily go back."
"We have visited twice during our stay in Rome. Reservation in advance is suggested. There are two hawls one is bigger, brighter and better decorared in my opinion. Tasty food with good igredients, fast service, kind personnel, reasonable prices, good selection of wine."
"The pasta here is sooooo delicious as is the rest of the food we had - meatballs, slow cooked lamb and a salad. It’s a very busy restaurant so book early, bookings open 30 days out. We ended up going for lunch as we couldn’t get a dinner slot during our time in Rome."
"A warm welcome, good food and house wines. I enjoyed my meal. The appetizer platter was tasty but none of the three stood out. The pasta carbonara was rich and delicious. The salted cod was rather good. Dessert was sweet and light."
"Even near Piazza di Campo Fiori no way a touristy place. The best authentic food with a twist we had in Rome. We took the menu. First came fantastic homemade bread. The Antipasti were fantastic: a wunderfull creamy Bacalamouse, the most tomatoish Panzanera and wonderful crispy outside and soft inside Polpette di Manzo with a so herby salsa verde. For Primo the Carbonanra and the Cacio é Pepe were just insanely well adjusted in consistency, taste, creamyness... I hab for Secondo the most delicious Angiello what was actually confit in ist own fat and so soft and tasty. My wife had a wonderful Bacala with Tomato and a spicy spinach. For Dolci we hab a wonderful Sabbaionemouse. The hole menu was just 33€ per Person, accualy just the Antipasti would be sold in other Restaurant for around 20...Perfect, Grazie mille ragazzi!!!"
"The staff were nice and the carbonara was superb, the only down fall was the white pork ragu, which was rather pricey with little meat and an overpowering pumpkin-y flavour. Not to my taste, but with that aside was an enjoyable dining experience. The tiramisu was delightful. And carbonara Divine! And the atmosphere inside the restaurant was great!"
